What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that views the mind as made up of multiple sub personalities or “parts,” each with its own perspectives, emotions and roles.
IFS therapy aims to help individuals develop a compassionate relationship with their internal parts, facilitating healing and integration. Through this process, clients learn to recognize and understand their different parts, allowing them to address underlying issues and foster greater emotional well-being. The ultimate goal of IFS is to achieve a harmonious internal system where all parts can work together in a balanced manner, leading to improved mental health and personal growth.

How IFS Works
IFS helps us establish a relationship with the different parts of ourselves including protectors, exiles and firefighters. IFS Therapists help guide clients in exploring the roles and functions of their parts, using techniques such as guided imagery and dialogue. By building a compassionate relationship with our parts, we can reduce internal conflicts and create greater sense of harmony and authenticity.
