My Therapeutic Approach 


My philosophy of practice stems from strength-based, and client-centered perspectives. Some individuals benefit from a structured style of therapy and others prefer a more exploratory approach, therefore I customize my approach to meet the unique needs of my clients.

I work from an integrative perspective, incorporating a number of elements from several evidence-based therapies, such as Wholehearted Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness.

My process is gentle yet direct, practical and solution oriented. My aim is to provide support, compassion, empathy and curiosity, so you can begin to gain a new level of insight and from there, move that insight into action and change.  

 I strongly believe:

  • You (and only you) are an expert of your own life
  • Humans are resilient, and have the potential to grow and change
  • Everyone has strengths and personal gifts; cultivating our strengths can help foster healing and growth versus only focusing on the parts of ourselves, which we believe are "not enough" or "deficient"
  • Human beings are wired for connection, when we experience a lack of true connection we suffer.  Focusing on how to cultivate and maintain true connection helps to facilitate meaning and purpose
  • All human beings are imperfect AND worthy of love, belonging and connection
